LAKESIDE LIVING, SAN FRANCISCO STYLE
Chestnut Hill Homes Offers a Lifestyle for All Ages at Pickering’s San Francisco By The Bay
For some fathers and sons, playing catch or going fishing may be favourite ways of staying close. For Steve and Jeff Moore, buying real estate seemed the better way to go.
The pair not only shares the same genes, but they’ll soon be sharing an amenity space as well, when they become neighbours at Chestnut Hill Homes’ popular Pickering condominium community, San Francisco By The Bay. Steve purchased a 16th-storey penthouse suite, while his son Jeff made his first foray into real estate with a two-bedroom suite two floors down.
“It wasn’t something that we were specifically looking for, but the fact that he’s there is great,” Jeff says. “We’re a close family, so that will be good to have.”
It was Steve who first heard about San Francisco By The Bay. Knowing he and his family wanted to make the move to condominium living, he quickly called for an appointment to see the site. As it turned out, he fell in love with it immediately, purchasing the 1,090-square-foot Taylor suite, a two-bedroom-plus-den, two-bathroom corner layout facing Lake Ontario.
Not only does he love the suite itself, but Steve – who describes himself as “an east-end guy” – already loves the location as well; central within Pickering but close to the lake too. “The location was key,” Steve says. “It’s close to Highway 401, you’ve got the Pickering Town Centre right there. It’s not downtown, but it’s not too far from anywhere. It’s a great location.”
Jeff agrees. Not only that, but as an architecture student, he took a close look at the design behind San Francisco By The Bay when his dad first told him about the community. Not only did he love the layout of his 832-square-foot Huntington suite, but he also loved the site’s exterior design. Researching Chestnut Hill, he was impressed with their reputation as well. “They looked really good and they appealed to me,” he says.
San Francisco By The Bay features two condominium towers of 16 and 18 storeys, joined together by a two-storey podium featuring 25,500 square feet of retail-commercial suites, including live-work units. Active residents will also appreciate the 12,500-square-foot amenity area, where they can work out in a fabulous fitness room, take a dip in the indoor pool, entertain friends in the party room that opens onto a deck, host gatherings in the multi-purpose room, or just unwind with the latest best-seller in the quiet reading lounge.
In the suites themselves, owners will reap the benefits of individually controlled heating and air conditioning, a stacked washer and dryer, four kitchen appliances, ceramics, engineered laminate hardwood flooring, and much more. These one- and two-bedroom designs, many with dens, start from the $170,000s.
Those who choose a town-home, meanwhile, will enjoy luxurious interiors framed by brick, stone and/or stucco exteriors, most with a rooftop garden. Each town-home includes two parking spots, vinyl casement windows, engineered floor systems, nine-foot main floor ceilings, designer-imported ceramics, custom-styled kitchen cabinetry, and more. Prices start from the mid-$200s.
The Presentation Centre for San Francisco By The Bay is located at 1215 Bayly Street, at Liverpool Road.
